My children have been a driving force behind my decision to return to school and complete my degree. My husband's support drove me to believe I would be supported during my journey to degree completion. Together, we outlined our priorities and set expectations so that we all knew how we could support one another during this process because it is not just my journey but the entire family's.

Favorite Saint Mary's Memory

My favorite SMC memory is hands down the first day of the BALOS program. The nerves I experienced that day were calmed by the amazing people I encountered in my cohort. I did not expect to make the connections I have and I am forever grateful to the friendly folks who befriended me on day one of ULD14.

My Next Chapter

My next chapter will include a Master's program. I am currently researching programs that interest me and suit my and my family's needs. Achieving this goal has opened various opportunities for me and solidified my thoughts about pursuing higher education.

“There is nothing more beautiful than finding your course as you believe you bob aimlessly in the current. Wouldn’t you know that your path was there all along, waiting for you to knock, waiting for you to become. It does not belong to your parents, your teachers, your leaders, or your lovers. Your path is your character defining itself more and more everyday like a photograph coming into focus."

My family (my mother, father, two younger sisters, and dog) and my friends. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all their love and support.

Favorite Saint Mary's Memory

Rushing from dancing in a ballet performance that ended at 4:30 pm to make a class at 5:00 pm! Also, squeezing in studying during any break I got in my work day full of rehearsals. I have many memories working on homework while in my dressing room in full hair and makeup and costume during an intermission.

My Next Chapter

I hope to eventually go to graduate school and become a certified nutritionist/registered dietician for dancers to continue my passion of ballet/dance and also nutrition, health, and wellness! I also hope to achieve all my ballet career goals and get to travel the world.

I cannot pretend I am without fear. But my predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved; I have been given much and I have given something in return; I have read and traveled and thought and written. I have had an intercourse with the world, the special intercourse of writers and readers. Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet.

I was fortunate to have many people in my corner rooting for me: family, friends, colleagues, and advisors. My LEAP cohorts were especially encouraging and motivating.

Favorite Saint Mary's Memory

Laughter! LEAP first caught my attention after I had no longer been involved in the dance community for quite some time. I was therefore eager to reconnect with my peers when I enrolled. The instant comradery did not disappoint. As performers, we already knew how to make the most out of challenging and stressful situations. The thrill of acing statistics my first semester was memorable too!
